Pre-Season Friendly
Attendance: 214
Admission: £5 (Pre-Season Rate)
Mossley play in the Nothern Premier League Division one and finished last year and they play at Seel Park. Located in the hills Seel Park is home to a scenic landscape behind which the football is played providing great viewing. The ground is a very traditional and has a small seated stand, a large behind goal terrace and large covered terrace to the side of the pitch. The playing surface very unsmooth gives for an entertaining gmae. The port of call first of course was the 'Refreshments' stall to the left of the entrance. They sell a wide range of food but we sample the 'Away Chips'. A decently sized portion would set you back £1.20 paired with a drink at 80p. £2 for Chips and drink is fairly reasonable considering the prices at other local clubs.
Parking is limited at the ground so good luck parking within 5 mins of the stadium. The staff are as friendly as they need to be for a Football game. Whilst the £5 admission can be seen as reasonable for adults as Mossley hosted a strongly followed non-league side; well for the first half at least. The youth team was out for the second half. The programme was let's say average for the price at £2; they printed just the one programme for all of pre-season so actually the away team were provided with a single page good for those who attended more than one but not for those who come to just one. Although this can be perceived as negative i did thoroughly enjoy the match as the entertainment was flowing.
I would suggest making the trip if you live locally and support Mossley AFC who need the support to help their promotion push this season after a 5th place finish last season.
